all about how to maintain your straightened hair and how to retain its structure and
volume.

Rebonding:
It is a process where the parlour people will load your hair with full of chemicals , wash your hair and start the straightening process.
The above steps are repeated for five to six times to make your look straight & Sleek.
Straightening :
It involves the same step but they wont do it for five times, Only twice the chemicals are used and a Straightening is done.
People who has never done straightening before has to first go for rebonding then later a year they can opt for straightening.

Basics of
the straightened hair
- We are not allowed to shampoo our hair the day after three days from the date of hair straightened.
- We should not tie or use clips in our hair.
Usually parlor
people will advise us to use the products which was prescribed by them, but I
wont follow their advise bcoz it is merely to sell their parlor products.
In my parlor
where I did the straightening they gave me Matrix Opti care products which has
to be used only in salon by professional .It also carried a word “To be sold Only in professional salons”.
I rebonded my
hair on 2011 Jan, and till October 2011 I was using parlor products, I couldn’t
find any hair re-growth in my hair. So I was thought of changing the shampoo .I
tried Herbal Essence Dangerously straight which is meant for straightened hair.
Thanks to
our blog-o-sphere - I started to use all other hair packs and other hair
related nourishment products at that time.
Now I have
waist length long Straight hair.
Things to
avoid in your Straight hair.
- Apply Oil only to your scalp and Don’t apply oil to your hair .If you want to do a deep oil condition then apply a egg mask. It will maintain the straight structure of the hair while leaving the hair soft.
- Don’t Plait your hair, all your sleek straight look will shred away.

Never ever
apply oil in your hair before using any of this pack, becoz it has to blend in
hair your well .Applying oil in the hair will require more shampoo to remove it, by which all the
goodness of the pack will be removed. However you can apply oil in your scalp.

If possible,
if you have a Hair Straightening machine we can also do straightening touch ups
by using any heat protectant spray, am using Giovanni Straightening Elixir.
Using Henna
& Egg Mask in our hair will also make our hair to look more sleek and
shine.

ReplyDeleteBut one query, is it really safe to apply henna and other packs for chemically straightened hair? I heard that they dry and make hair more frizzy. Could you please help me with this?
I want my hair to be more thick and soft naturally. So, If it is really safe to apply henna on my chemically straightened hair then I'd be glad! And, I'm really not planning to straighten my hair ever again... I have heavy hair loss.

HiSharu .. glad my post helped you ..these natural hair packs doesnt make your hair dry or frizzy .. do try egg mask .it make your hair more manageable..

ReplyDeleteConditioner is important in rebonded hair..which makes our hair soft.. do try Dove oil care nourishing conditioner or Matirx Opti Care Conditioner or Biotique Watercress Conditioner.. which will suit our hair texture..

Hair loss may not be directly related to straightening.. it may be bcoz of pollution type of water.. jus hav a healthy diet wit ful of spinach..it wl minimize d hair loss

ReplyDeleteYou should not wash your hair because scalp should produce natural oil before washing... according to my beautician natural oil of hair was lost during the process... thus, it should not be washed for three days so that scalp produce natural oil to avoid dryness after washing

Hi very good tips .I have done hair smoothening in may 2014 and again hair straightening in dec 2014 and in between I have done many hair spas and have done renewc treatment after hair straightening. But know having lots of hairfall wht do u suggest me firstly I was using scwarzkof shampoo didn't suit me makes my hair dry and know using matrix opticare shampoo and conditioner . really worried about my hairfall. Hey It has been almost 2 months since i last had my smoothning....Now i wish to do oiling...But i am afraid dat i have to use relatively large amount of shampoo in order to get d oil out of my hair bcoz the shampoo is already very expensive...I am using loreal products as suggested by d parlour...Can i use any normal loreal shampoo after the oiling procedure...or i hve to use the prescribed shampoo...Kindly reply i really need ur help...
